Brief details of Northern Railway’s December 2017 timetable for consultation have been issued.
Summary is
An hourly Leeds via Halifax to Manchester Victoria extended to Oxford Road via the new Ordsall Curve (extended to Manchester Airport in May 2018.
On the Harrogate line there will be 4 trains per hour between Leeds & Harrogate with the new trains at xx14 & xx44 from Leeds calling only at Horsforth. On a Sundays there will be a ˝ hourly Leeds to Knaresborough between 1000 & 2000.
Between Sheffield & Lincoln a new hourly Sheffield to Retford service calling at all stations. The existing Sheffield to Lincoln will call Worksop, Retford then all stations to Lincoln accelerating trains by around 10 minutes.
There is to be an hourly Darlington to Bishop Auckland service (instead of 2 hourly).
On Sundays the following are proposed _
Morpeth to Newcastle & Metrocentre to be hourly .
Wigan to Manchester via Atherton to be ˝ hourly 0900 – 1800 – hourly in an evening.
Wigan to Liverpool 0930 to 1800 ˝ hourly.
Skipton & Ilkley to Bradford Forster Square to be hourly (currently 2 hourly).
Between Newcastle & Carlisle there will be 2 extra trains per day in each direction as there is to be extended hours of operation on the line.
Lincoln to Sheffield to be hourly 0840 to 2120.
The xx26 from Leeds to Manchester Victoria via Brighouse will continue to operate calling at all stations on weekdays.
