Due to the interest generated by the introduction of the IET, we are proposing to post some of the initial logs of these trains, and performance-related data to this web-site. If you have a log of the IETs following their introduction, and not previously submitted, please send them and we will post them on this web-site.

Please send your log to rpseditor@aol.com

Change of itinerary yesterday. Took a 150 to Cardiff to pick up 15.29 ex SWA as far as RDG, but heavily delayed at Patchway so had to bale at NWP.

NWP to BPW 23m 24s, checked after Patchway. 72-73 out of Severn Tnl, 79 max after Pilning.

Dep BPW 3 late. To SWI in 24m 14s. 95 out of Sodbury Tnl and fleeting 125 max before Little Somerford, 90 max after W B Jn slack.

SWI to RDG 27m 02s. 122 at Steventon checked down to 60. Recovered to 80 thro DID and 114 max Pangbourne.

Have sent draft IET article to Editor.

Should have added this was formed by 800 009 + 800 011 with one power car out on 009.

I gather 009 is out on its own today. Interesting if anyone gets to time it.

Planning to get 16.56 ex CDF to SWI then head to TAU on first public trip West of Temple Meads.

Cautious starts meant 800 012 / 010 with 2 engines out were even slower than this morning.

CDF NWP 12 58. 93 max.

NWP BPW 21 53. 89 after Bishton. 72 into hole, 68 out. 67 Pilning rallied to 72 before easing for Patchway.

BPW SWI 54 10. 85 out of Sodbury Tnl, 116 max Lit Som. Then sig probs. Only just caught 17.30 PAD TAU at SWI as it was a few mins late.

So now on 800 011/013. SWI CPM 12 13. 121 max. CPM BTH 12 11. 85 at Corsham, 100 max.

BTH BRI 11 08. 99 at Keynsham.

Then new territory as IEP comes to Weston Milton.

BRI NLS 8 51. 81 at summit, 90 max.
NLS YAT 4 56. 79 max.
YAT WOR 5 25. 75 max.
WOR WNM 3 07. 50 max.
WNM WSM 3 44. 31 max.
WSM TAU. 20 50. Couple of 102 maxes.

It didn't get any better.
SWI CPM 13m 09s, max 113.
CPM BTH 11m 56s. 77-78 at Corsham, 100 max Box.
BTH BRI 12m 07s. Max 93.
BRI NLS 10m 53s. 73 at Wildcountry La and 81 max Flax Bourton.
NLS YAT 5m 13s, max 74.
YAT WOR 5m 34s. Max 73.
WOR WSM 5m 06s. Max 58.

18.5 late at Weston. No time for beer befote 18.09 back to PAD.

In event the 153/150 on the 18.15 WSM to BRI left RT and was looped at Yatton.

We left 11 late and ran non stop to BRI in 22m 40s, heavily checked at start. Overtook unit, thro YAT at 73, NLS at 87 then reached 89 which was just about held to Wildcountry (MP 123), maybe down to 88, then 91 max.

On the outward run we were thro SLO in 11m 56s and doing 124 at Burnham on AC. 121 at Taplow then 117 at Maidenhead on diesel gradually fell to 108 after Twyford West, before easing for RDG stop in P8 in 22m 48s.

800 006/013. One engine out on each unit, so only 4 working.
