From Scotrail twitter feed:
The first @HitachiRailEU #Class385 train will enter service on Tuesday 24 July between Edinburgh & Glasgow via Falkirk. We've boosted seats on the route by over 17,000 per day. We can’t wait to welcome you on board!

Experienced my first class 385 run today - averaged 100mph from Cadder Yard to the braking point for Falkirk High, 16 miles in a shade over 10 mins. Impressive accelerations; best was 0-80 in 78secs departing Polmont.

Performance in a different league to the 365s which still work most trains on this route - they are definitely showing their age in terms of interior comfort and performance, belonging to a distinctly earlier era.

Trains are comfortable, plenty of proper tables, good window alignment (unless it’s a Priority seat when it seems there’s no window at all for some!) and good ride if slightly firm. Downside is a rather intrusive hum from the air conditioning fan especially when at rest. Only the driver’s side windscreen has been replaced - refit is subtly done, but obvious and looks a bit strange when inspected close up!
