A large "street event" in Liverpool & Wirral is expected to attract very large crowds. To cater for extra traffic, Merseyrail Electrics is hoping to increase most trains to 6 coaches instead of the usual 3. However, to release stock, many smaller stations will be closed - often without rail replacement buses, and a special timetable will operate, trains running "semi-fast" on most routes. Check your travel plans if intending to visit the area on these dates.

(And note that RMT guards on "Northern" will again be on strike on 6, 13 & 20 October. )

(The event involves human-propelled "giant puppets" with processions in Liverpool, New Brighton & parts of Wallasey.)
