Kings Cross to Peterborough 47:35 - peaks of 128mph - but hampered by catching up the 18;00 Edinburgh which was still in P4 , so we were routed into P5. Approach control and low speeds into P5 lost us some time, otherwise a very lively run indeed. Peterborough to Newark 26:36 - peaks of 128mph, but slower approach - suspect the platform starter on red to allow trains over the flat crossing ahead. Nevertheless a lively run. Newark to Doncaster 25:28. Late start - due to the last southbound service stopping in the up platform and a last photo opportunity. Tannoy said we waited for a connecting train? Again peaks of 127/128mph - but as always approach to Doncaster killed due to the late running (6L) 1B91 Cleethorpes to Manchester TPE service needing to cross from P3 across the up and down main - blocking our route to P4. |
