In the comments section of the Guardian online, train driving is described by a former ticket inspector to be a low skilled job. Hopefully our members disagree ?

Love it! Speculation by train drivers about a person in the industry making derogatory remarks about the nature of the job is that somewhere in the past you will find they have applied for the position and been rejected. The other oft suggested cause of such dismissal is that a driver has had a romantic arrangement with their wife or daughter..
