There was a problem at the box tonight with nothing running over shap for a while. Delay reason given was Signal Box Closed when should have been open. A lot of trains were cancelled or terminated short. The 16.21 Willesden Shieldmuir mail train (2 x 325) sat at Preston for long time, finally getting away at 21.47.30 77min late with as far as I could see nothing between it and Carlisle. Determined driving seems to have followed on a not very nice night.

Looks like 121 mins for 177 miles to Shieldmuir, 88mph ave.
