The Glasgow-Anniesland, via Maryhill, line is expected to remain closed until next Wednesday (April 12) as engineers work to repair damage caused by a landslip.

Tonnes of stone and mud has been washed onto the track near Lambhill in the north of the city. The foundations of a footbridge over the railway have also been significantly weakened following the landslip on Tuesday morning.

Engineers are currently working to stabilise the slope and assess the damage to the footbridge, which may need to be temporarily removed and then reconstructed before the line can be safely reopened.

As a result, ScotRail is making the following services alterations:

services between Glasgow Queen Street - Anniesland have been cancelled. A full bus replacement service will be in place for the half hourly service although customers are reminded that calls to intermediate stations will take longer.
services between Glasgow Queen Street - Crianlarich have also been cancelled. A full bus replacement service will be in place to all intermediate stations.
services for the West Highland line will begin at Crianlarich and continue to all intermediate stations for Oban, Fort William and Mallaig.

Why can't Queen St low level be used instead? It has in the not too distant past!
