Work to electrify the Stirling, Dunblane and Alloa railway ahead of the introduction of ScotRail’s new electric Class-385 trains is set to intensify from this Sunday.
Along the 50km route engineers will be working both day and night to complete overhead line electrification (OLE) work including mast and cantilever installation, cable ducting work on platforms at stations along the route and aligning newly-installed infrastructure.

To deliver this work for the December introduction of ScotRail’s new fleet of longer, faster, greener modern electric trains, Sunday service alterations will start from September 2 until October 22 (01.10am Sunday morning – 04.30am Monday morning). Then from October 28 until November 25 in place (21.45pm Sunday evening– 04.30am Monday morning).
