1A82 (0915 Penzance to Paddington) has reported loss of all "GU's" after a wave strike on the wall. Driver coasting at present. Hitachi aware. 12:23 1C75 (0937 Paddington to Paignton) now stood on the do wn at Dawlish with loss of GU's after being hit by a wave. The Voyager antidote is installed awaiting testing Forum 20.12.19 |

Could be please explain what "GU" is please? I gather its Generator Unit i.e. diesel engine and the associated alternator. Have seen gensets used as well. Just don't call them diesels... |
