Various forums reporting that entry speeds to P 3 - 12 will be reduced to 10 mph under the new signalling being installed over Easter. But exit speeds will remain at 25.

10 mph PSR signs duly installed at entries to platforms 3-12, 25 PSRs on exit.

My train from Cheltenham arrived P12 yesterday, it was a long crawl. Will be doing some timing tomorrow, will see what the starts are like!

Hmm. Mixed to say the least.
Four BRI - SWI non stops via Badminton today, 2 IET and 2 HST.

First IET off P15 and very gingerly out and via former main line to 25 mph crossover after Dr Days Jn. Lolled up Filton bank at 55. BRI SWI 32n 08s.

Second was HST which blasted out of P7 and reached 25 well before the East Gantry, timed from second coach. Crossed straight over to reliefs but c checked down from 51 to 37 before Stapleton Rd. Rallied to 65 on the climb. BRI SWI 30m 22s.

Third same IETs again. From P13 but crossed straight over to reliefs. 55 at Staplton Rd and 60 at Narroways held up the bank. Best yet from an IET. Checked before BPW so lost the minute gained on their earlier run. BRI SWI 32m 13s.

Fourth HST from Paington. No inhibition on dep P7. Checked on Filton bank and generally cautious but 126 Little Somerford and BRI SWI 31m 35s. Worth noting that its arrival into P8/7 was very slow, I would say at the 10mph limit.

First run back from SWI was with an HST which entered P9/10 at 23 mph. SWI BRI 30m 07s.

By mid morning loads of cancellations so I got back to BRI via Cheltenham on 2 car then 3 car 158s. Checked into BRI.

Third run into BRI was with the same IETs. Into P13 at around 15mph in 31m 34s from SWI.

Final arrival was HST into P15 also in 30m 07s from SWI.

I managed to squeeze in a return trip from Swindon to Warminster on diverted Pompeys, both 158/9s, incl ascent of Upton Scud. on 2 engines. Odd that I had a 158/9 on a Worcs to BRI yet 150 was covering one of the Pompey diagrams.

Lots of very miffed off pax due to engineering works and cancellations.

Things needs to settle down quickly.
