On 4/4/2018 I caught 221136 which was running as a 4 car set I also saw a few days earlier a 4 car 221 stabled at New St but didnt get number it could of course have been 136. It could be the only 221 with all engines running!!!!

Yes, all to do with re-activating 221144 for use by XC. There are now four 4-car XC Class 221s namely 136,140,141 and 144. Performance pretty much indistinguishable from the 5-car XC 221s.
