Bristol P-Newport 3 week closure. - Posted: May 26, 2018 - 2:23 PM Quote and reply
Network Rail is working on weekends to install the remaining steel masts in the Pilning area ahead of a three-week closure of the railway between Bristol Parkway and Newport. This will allow electrification upgrade work between Patchway Station and the Severn Tunnel to take place from 16 June to 7 July.

Note 28th June Bristol RPS meeting.

I gather the principal work will be the installation of the conductor bar in the Patchway tunnels.

This should mean Paddington - South Wales trains diverted via Gloucester.
