Taunton-Exeter long closure. - Posted: February 14, 2019 - 11:02 PM Quote and reply
A reminder that Exeter to Taunton will close from the 18th February to the 8th March. A two hourly GWR service will run from Paddington via Westbury and Honiton to Exeter and beyond. This is due to work in Whiteball Tunnel.
I've no idea if cl 80x's have operated over the route but the latest Route Clearance list over the Yeovil PM-Exeter section doesn't mention them. Obviously HSTs are OK but there are exceptions:
Mk3 (MOD) = Mk 3 coaches (Modified) and refers to Mk 3 coaches which have been fitted with powered bodyside plug doors.
Mk3 DVT (MOD) = Mk3 DVT (Modified) and refers to Mk3 DVTs that have had centre pivot lateral bump stops modified to ESG-S-MO15, reducing lateral body movement.
Mk4s are barred.

Further west single line working will be in operation between Totnes and Aish as work is carried out in Marley Tunnel.
