Another XC HST to Manchester - Posted: February 26, 2019 - 8:29 AM Quote and reply
Added spice to yesterday's (25th Feb) Voyager traction power monitoring was the allocation by XC control of a 2+6 HST set as a short notice 1T41 (13:31 BHM-MAN) substitution for the Voyager on 1M41 (12:00 BRI-MAN) which was delayed due to a problem with debris on the line before Cheltenham. Timed between Stockport and Macclesfield returning south on 1V63 (16:05 MAN-BRI).
The short-formed HST had very similar performance to the day's Voyagers on the climb after the 45mph PSR at Cheadle Hulme, reaching the 105 mph line speed around Adlington and with a SPT-MAC run time of 11 min 26.5 sec compared to the WTT Voyager schedule of 11 min 30 sec.
