Remembered to look today at Southport and was "plated" at 159.5 tonnes so over 20 tonnes heavier than a 319. The end vehicle shown as 37.2t as opposed to the 319's c 28t.

Interesting, as most gen on Rail Forums / WNXX suggesting only 7.5 tons extra for each gen set.

July 2021 Modern Railways 'Northern 769s Enter Service' (p84) says "initial reports from drivers indicate performance is slightly better on diesel power than that of a class 150 DMU".

However, my timings on the Rhymney and Southport lines suggest 769s are a little shy of 150 performance, admittedly from small samples on lines I don't know well.

Anyone beg to differ?
