On previous occasions 2010 and 2015 I have visited for the four days which included extra trains loco hauled and even with those extras, trains have been overloaded with lots of standing. How they hope to cope with only three trains an hour max possibly of 5 or 6 coach trains is beyond belief as St Andrews have said they have sold a lot more tickets this year. Im sure the thousands of Yanks who visit will enjoy standing all the way on a all stations to Edinburgh!!! Andrew Clark |

Old Course at St Andrews hosts The 150th Open from 10-17 July 2022. We’re doing everything we can to support your travel to and from The 150th Open Championship at St Andrews, however, our temporary timetable will still be in place throughout the Championship. This means there will be a very limited number of trains to and from Leuchars – the closest station to the course. Space on board trains is limited, and unfortunately no rail replacement transport is available, so we urge you to plan your journey now, and to consider what alternative modes of transport are available. It's disappointing that we are unable to provide the same level of support to the Championship as we have done in previous years, with additional services and extra carriages. We are working closely with key partners, including The R&A, Fife Council, and Transport Scotland, and will continue to play our part during this major event. |
